Alex Rojas and Kaden Zion both scored twice for the Rye Boys Varsity Soccer Team on Saturday to guide the Garnets to a 4-1 road victory over Walter Panas. The Garnets move to 4-0 as their offense continues to hum in the early goings of the 2024 season.

Head Coach Jared Small was proud of his team for the way they responded to falling behind 1-0 in the first half on the road, especially the two goal scorers. “It was nice to see Alex Rojas have a breakthrough game,” Small told MyRye.com. “It was also great to see Kaden score two more, particularly since he has been magical through the first three games.” Zion also added an assist on Rojas’ first goal to kickstart his three point night.

Beyond the scoresheet, center midfielder Alex van der Voort was a noticeable presence in the middle of the field. Eddie Kehoe, Fin Kearney, and Luca Zambianchi pressured Panther defenders all game, and the back line of Zac Ramsey and Aydan Breen held firm after the early mistake.

The Garnets (4-0-0) are back in action tomorrow, Monday 9/16, in a road tilt against Edgemont at 5:00pm. They also play Tuesday at Tappan Zee and Thursday at Eastchester in a week of away games. This will be a big test for Rye to try to continue their success while away from home for an entire week.
