Ryan Iarocci Sworn In as Rye FD Lieutenant
Ryan Iarocci was sworn in as Lieutenant with the Rye Fire Department on Thursday, September 20. His promotional swearing-in ceremony was held in Rye City Hall. Deputy Clerk Kayla Garritano did the honors swearing in Iarocci.
Iarocci is replacing former Lieutenant John Thompson, who retired earlier this month after 26 years of service. Iarocci is a third-generation firefighter with over 12 years of experience. He and his family live in Hawthorne, but he transferred to the City of Rye from the Port Chester Fire Department in 2016 and has served Rye since then. Iarocci said of his promotion, “Over the past eight years, I have grown both professionally and personally, and I am incredibly grateful for the support and camaraderie of my colleagues and the Rye community.”
Iarocci was scheduled to be promoted soon after John Thompson’s retirement, but he had to delay the swearing-in when he and his wife Ninamarie welcomed their second daughter, baby Hailey Anne, to the family.
Iarocci is thrilled to be promoted to Lieutenant with the Rye Fire Department, and stated, “I am excited to start this new chapter in my career and look forward to continuing to serve and protect the Rye community with the same dedication and enthusiasm that has guided me throughout my career.” He thanked the Rye community for their continued support.
