Just one day after both the Girls Tennis and Boys Soccer teams at Rye High School reached double digits in the win column in 2024, the Girls Varsity Soccer Team followed suit to become the third such team. Charlotte Keenan scored twice for the Garnets in their 3-1 victory over Eastchester on Tuesday afternoon.

“Rye had a strong performance against league rival Eastchester,” Head Coach Rich Savage told MyRye.com after the game. Savage noted how Rye stuck with it even after several early chances were denied by Eastchester senior goalkeeper Lily Joice. Joice had 4 spectacular saves for the Eagles despite the losing effort.

Keenan’s first goal came with just two minutes left in the first half. Parker Calhoun picked up the assist with a nice through ball, setting up Keenan’s go-ahead strike. The sophomore needed far less time in the second half, scoring early to double Rye’s lead on an assist from impressive freshman Hannah Jachman. Claire Nemsick would score Rye’s third goal off a corner and assist from Lyla Keenan to wrap up the Garnets’ scoring. Blake Sasse was in the net for the Garnets and had 6 saves for the win.

The Garnets (10-0-1) will host Pelham in their next game, as they search for win number eleven. Game time is slated for 5:00pm on Thursday, October 10 at Nugent Stadium. Watch it here.
