Robert Schacher, 88, of Rye, NY died peacefully on October 16 surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in the Bronx, he attended De Witt Clinton High School, and NYU College of Engineering. He was a Captain in the Air Force’s Strategic Air Command, and then worked for Grumman Aircraft on the Lunar Excursion Module. Later, he had a successful career running his own business, importing goods from China. He loved travel, flying airplanes, cooking, and gardening, but most of all he loved his family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Sharon, his beloved daughters, Dr. Stephanie Schacher and Hilary Suher, his caring sons- in-law Dr. Martin Klein and Frank Suher, and his adored grandchildren, Emily and Jack Suher, and Charlotte and Jonathan Klein. He gave the best hugs, was a good friend to all, and he will be greatly missed by all who were lucky to be in his life.
