The Rye City Lions Club will honor Kelly Jancski with the James A. and Marian M. Shea Community Service Award on Thursday, November 14, 2024 at Whitby Castle. Kelly Jancski has been a volunteer for numerous organizations in Rye, contributing hours of service to make a meaningful impact on the community. The Shea Award was established in 2003 to recognize an individual(s) who lives or works in the Rye community and has contributed to enhancing the lives of its citizens by volunteering services of an outstanding nature.

Jancski

Jancski’s work as a board member of the Wainwright House exemplifies her commitment. Over the years, Jancski has organized events such as hoedowns, jazz brunches, book clubs, book launches, and has overseen the redesign of the meditation garden and the rehabilitation of Wainwright’s Fonrose House.

In addition to her work with Wainwright House, Kelly became involved with Rye Boy Scout Troop 2 when her son, Logan, was in middle school. She has held several leadership roles, even taking leadership training to better serve the scouts. Although Logan achieved the rank of Eagle Scout and graduated in 2024, Kelly has remained involved in Troop 2, assisting current scouts with their merit badges. She also serves as co-chair of the Parent Organization for the Rye High School Class of 2024, she has helped parents navigate the often-complex college application process. When she is not volunteering, Jancski supports her husband’s business, Sean Jancski Landscape Architects.
