The Rye Boys Hockey Team lost their second straight on Tuesday night, dropping a 3-1 decision to the Pelham Pelicans. Rye tied the game in the second period and it stayed that way for long stretches of the game before Pelham scored the game-winning goal with under four minutes to play.

“We got off to a good start, dictating play early and generating chances while outshooting Pelham 9-4 in the first period,” Head Coach Pete Thomas told MyRye.com after the game. “Ultimately, we didn’t sustain pressure and allowed too many defensive lapses.”

Finn Draddy scored Rye’s only goal in the defeat, assisted by Will Weinman. Fernando Mosquera drew another start in goal, making 22 saves.

The Garnets (4-4-1) have now lost back-to-back close games after their 2-1 upset win over Suffern. They will look to right the ship in their next game, a home contest against Clarkstown North tonight (Wednesday, January 15). Puck drop at Playland is set for 6:30pm.
