Girls Basketball Scores 61 Points in First League Game, Moves to 10-0
The Rye Girls Basketball Team improved to a perfect 10-0 on Tuesday evening (1/14), defeating the Byram Hills Bobcats 61-40. Rye has now swept the Bobcats on both the girls and boys side this season. Head Coach Margo Hackett and her team also move to 1-0 in league play after their 9-0 preseason in what is quickly becoming a must-see season.
Phoebe Greto scored 20 points to lead the Garnets, followed by Paige Tepedino with 15. Stella Maresca and Frankie Chiaravalle added eleven and eight respectively to complement the top weapons for Rye in an impressive offensive showing.
Hackett and the team is right back into league play with a home game against Eastchester on Thursday, January 16. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:00pm at Rye HS in the second league game of the year. Watch it here.
