Rye FD Union to Host Second Annual Charity Fundraiser

The Rye Professional Firefighters Local 2029 union’s charity, 2029 Fundraising, will host its second annual charity gala on Saturday, March 8, 2025. The union stepped up its fundraising efforts in 2024 after formalizing its 501c3 tax exempt status and running its first charity event. Local 2029 has had other charity programs, such as its annual boot drive on Purchase Street, for a long time.
“As firefighters, our work is centered on helping those in need during extremely challenging and unforeseen crises and events,” said Sal Inguanti, president of the 2029 Fundraising charity. “Through our fundraising efforts, our goal is to extend that mission beyond emergency services to support the broader community.”
The March 8th event will be a St. Patrick’s Day ball at the Harrison Meadows Country Club, Harrison’s town-owned course, formerly called Willow Ridge Country Club. Funds raised will support the mission of the 2029 Fundraising charity, which “raises money to aid local organizations and initiatives when they need it most”.
Since last year’s fundraiser, some of those receiving support include:
- $10,000 in financial aid to assist a Westchester based resident following a tragic loss.
- A $7,000 donation to the Rye Free Reading Room in support of its bi-annual Novel Night fundraiser, which raises money to build the library’s collections, underwrite free children’s programming, and add new technology for the community’s benefit.
- A $5,000 donation to Rye Recreation Camp Scholarship, a financial assistance program making summer camp accessible to local children with limited means.
- $2,500 to support the Wainwright House’s Fonrose Cottage refurbishment project, ensuring the preservation of this historic community space.
- Sponsorship of local sports teams and community initiatives like the The Rye Youth Council’s Rainbow Run
Tickets start at $250 each and sponsorships of a table of ten can be purchased for $4,000 (purchase tickets). There is an early access VIP whiskey tasting, entertainment including Irish step dancers and bagpipes and a charity auction.
