Swimming and Diving Drops High-Scoring Meet to Arlington

The Rye – Rye Neck – Blind Brook Swim and Dive Team fell short on Wednesday, January 15, in a high-scoring meet against Arlington. Despite the 112-54 loss, Head Coach Katie Konopka still saw some positives in some of her individual athletes’ performances.
“Wilson Redd had a great 100-meter butterfly swim, winning the event this evening,” Konopka told MyRye.com. “Michael Ladyzhensky placed 2nd in the 200M freestyle and 500M free. Vlad Moscaliuc placed 2nd in the 100M backstroke. Jonathan Rosenbluth placed 3rd in the 100M breaststroke.”
The team (3-5) continues to develop in their first year playing in league two. Their next chance to inch closer to .500 is Friday, January 17, as they host the LPPV Rebels at 4:30pm. The Rebels consists of swimmers and divers from Lakeland, Walter Panas, and Putnam Valley, and poses another difficult challenge for Rye – Rye Neck – Blind Brook.
