Swimming and Diving Team Pick Up Crucial Win Over New Rochelle – Bronxville
The Rye – Rye Neck – Blind Brook Swimming and Diving Team picked up their third win of the 2024-25 season on Friday evening, outpacing New Rochelle – Bronxville just enough to clinch a 92-87 victory. The team won in dramatic fashion at the very end of the meet, with several swimmers picking up new personal bests.
“The Rye – Rye Neck – Blind Brook Swim and Dive Team had a great meet against New Rochelle – Bronxville that came down to the last relay,” Head Coach Konopka told MyRye.com on Friday night. “The entire team worked together to score as many points as possible in individual events and win relays.”
For team events, the 200-meter freestyle relay and 400M frees relay both placed first to pick up crucial points. Individually, Michael Hamlet had a personal best time in the 200M free, and Henri Von Homeyer continued his mid-season surge with personal records in the 50M free and 100M breaststroke.
Rye – Rye Neck – Blind Brook (3-4) travel to Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh for their next meet, a road contest against Arlington. Start time is set for 5:00pm on Wednesday, January 15. The team will look to turn their third win into their first win streak of the season, and move to .500 on the year in the process in their first year in league two.
