Girls Basketball Creams Yorktown, Advances to Class AA Semifinals

The Rye Girls Basketball Team won big for the second straight round on Thursday, February 27, defeating Yorktown 47-20 on home soil to advance to the Class AA semi-finals. Rye has now won their two postseason games by a combined 95-43 score (26-point average win margin) thanks to balanced scoring and exceptional defense.

Charlotte Storz set a season high in points for a second straight game with 15 – she now has 28 through two contests to lead the Garnets in the postseason. Phoebe Greto (11 points), Molly Kennedy (7), and Kathleen Denvir (6) all had strong games as well in support.

Rye improves to 19-3 cumulatively on the season, and will search for their 20th victory against Tappan Zee in the Final Four on Tuesday, March 4, at 3:00pm.
