Man Arrested on Midland Avenue on DWI Charge
At around 10:45pm on Tuesday, February 12, 61-year-old Lawrence Marks was arrested by members of the Rye Police Department for driving while intoxicated.
Rye PD responded to a call at the intersection of Midland Avenue and Sylvan Place. When the officers arrived, they found a 2019 Jaguar FPC obstructing Midland Ave with significant damage to the front of the vehicle. An investigation determined Lawrence Marks, a Rye Brook resident, was operating the 2019 Jaguar. It was unknown how he damaged his vehicle.
Officers administered Standardized Field Sobriety Tests on the spot, which Marks failed. They arrested him and brought him to Rye Police Headquarters, where he provided a breath sample of .12% BAC. Marks was released on an appearance ticket returnable to the City of Rye Court on Tuesday, February 25, 2025.
Rye PD reminds everyone that booking charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
