Rye Hockey Wins Sixth in a Row on Senior Night

The Rye Hockey Team celebrated senior night in a big way on Wednesday, January 5, defeating Scarsdale 5-1. Rye honored eight seniors before their penultimate home game of the season, and proceeded to demolish the Raiders to clinch their sixth consecutive victory.

Connor Brady continued his hot streak with a second period goal, which at the time gave Rye a 4-1 lead. The senior now has six goals in his last three games. Prior to his tally, Jamie Morris struck twice in the first period, and Will Molin added one in the opening frame as well. In the 3rd, Max Niejadlik added an insurance goal and secure the win.

Rye (11-5-1) haven’t lost since their OT defeat to Rye Country Day on January 17, as they continue to play their best hockey with playoffs approaching. Their next contest is not until Wednesday, February 12, at 7:45pm. The Garnets host Horace Greeley at Playland in their final home game of the regular season.
