Boys Tennis Opens 2025 with Close Win Fueled by Doubles

The Rye Boys Tennis Team kicked off the 2025 spring season with a 4-3 victory over Clarkstown South on Tuesday, April 1st. Their four sets of doubles all picked up victories in their matchups against the Vikings, although all three singles players fell.
“The win today was a true team effort,” Head Coach Sue Dickson told MyRye.com after the match. “The doubles matches commanded the courts and won all matches in straight sets with ease.”
Despite the close score on the official record, as Dickson noted, Rye had little threat to their chance of winning. Their doubles pairs were standout in the season opener. In total, five players on the roster registered their first matches on the top varsity team.
Rye (1-0) will look to win their second league contest of the young season and their first on the road in their next match on Thursday, April 3rd. The Garnets travel to Taconic Sport & Racquet to take on Roy C. Ketcham High School at 4:30pm.
