The Rye Boys Tennis team stayed hot with a 5-2 win over Clarkstown South on Thursday, April 24. The Garnets have had an impressive start to their 2025 season and now sit at 4-1 after their first five games.

“It was a great day for the team as a whole,” Head Coach Sue Dickson told MyRye.com after the match. “The top two singles struggled a bit today, but there were convincing wins at 3rd singles and all four doubles teams.”

Within the five wins, the Garnets were dominant. Top doubles team Filip Glitterstam and Lou Kim-Reuter won 6-0, 6-0 – as good as it gets. Timothy and Xavier Morell took down their counterparts 6-3, 6-0. Marcos Becker and Tyga Vurol also won at third 6-1, 6-3. At fourth doubles, Nate Bertisch and Dylan Smailes worked through some nerves to pull out a gritty win 6-4, 7-5.

Rye is 4-1 at about the midway point of the season, although plenty of exciting action looms. The next test on the schedule is John Jay-East Fishkill on Monday, April 28. Start time for the away match is set for 4:30pm to kick off next week.
