Garnets Baseball Drops Season Opener to Eastchester

The Rye Varsity Baseball Team fell in their season opener on Tuesday, April 1st, coming up short of the Eastchester Eagles by a score of 6-3. The Eagles are consistently a top team in the league and did enough to win despite leaving several runners on base across seven innings.
Charlie Rupp and Nolan Hutson led the Rye offense with two hits apiece, with Rupp both smacking a double. Hutson also had three stolen bases and a run batted in. Jamie Morris and Jackson Pineault both went 1-3 with RBIs as well. On the mound, Jack Sheridan and Peter Davies combined for 7 innings, with only two earned runs out of their six total runs against.
Seven Eagles recorded multiple hits and Justin Mylenski picked up the win with six solid frames against the Garnets.
Rye (0-1) is right back to work for their second consecutive home game to open the 2025 season, as they welcome Port Chester to Disbrow Park, Wednesday, April 2nd, for a 4:30pm start.
