Carver Center raised over $600K at its spring gala on Saturday, April 5th, 2025 at the Westchester Country Club in Purchase. More than 380 supporters celebrated the organization’s mission to “nourish, educate, and empower” the Port Chester community. Proceeds from the gala will support a wide range of Carver programs, including the Carver Market, teen programming, and case management services.

Committee residents from Rye include Blair Metrailler, Molly Mahoney, Kelly Shaw (Co-chair) Board Member, Amory Wooden, and Diane Martin. Yvette Hammel (Co-chair) Board President and Jackie Emmet reside in Larchmont), and Michelle Weiss, live in Purchase.

Rye resident Claire Steinberg received the 2025 Sister Rosemary Sheehan Award for Volunteerism in recognition of her extraordinary service. A former Carver Board President (2018–2022), Steinberg played a pivotal role in strengthening Carver’s programs and reinforcing its commitment to delivering core human services.

Guests heard stories of resilience—like that of Juan Carolos “JC” Alejaldre, who first walked into Carver at the age of six and is now the Director of Community and Population Health at New York-Presbyterian Hospital and a Professor in the Department of Health Policy & Management at Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health. Officials in attendance included Congressman George Latimer, County Executive Ken Jenkins, State Senator Shelley Mayer, and NYS Representative Steve Otis.
