Rye Concludes Disney Set with Loss to Ketcham

The Rye Baseball Team dropped their final game at Disney on Wednesday, April 16, losing 16-6 to Roy C. Ketcham in five innings. The Garnets’ respectable two-game winning streak came to a screeching halt against a formidable Storm lineup.
Despite the defeat, Rye’s offense continued to produce. Luke Ontaneda went 2-2 with a double, triple, and two runs batted in. He went 5-6 across the two games in Florida with four RBIs. Charlie Rupp doubled and recorded 2 RBIs to conclude a 3-6 road trip. Overall, the senior slugger has five hits and five RBIs in his last three games. Vinny Sculti also had an RBI in the loss.
For the season, the Garnets are 4-3 as they head home for important games. Rye visits Henry Hudson on Saturday, April 19, for a 12:00pm start in their next game. The team enters their first game back in New York averaging eight runs per contest (56 total) despite four of the seven games ending early via the mercy rule.
