DWI and Pot Possession Arrest on I-95 in Rye Sunday
On Sunday, November 1, 2020, at approximately 3:30 a.m., New York State Police stopped a vehicle on I-95 in the city of Rye, for multiple vehicle and traffic violations. Upon interviewing the driver, probable cause to search the vehicle was established. The driver of the vehicle, Kareem M. McCoy, 36, of Mount Vernon, NY, was found to be intoxicated and in possession of approximately 86.7 grams of marijuana.
McCoy was taken into custody, transported and processed at SP New Rochelle where his blood alcohol content was determined to be 0.08%. He was subsequently charged with Criminal Possession of Marijuana 4th degree; a Class A Misdemeanor, Driving While Intoxicated; an Unclassified Misdemeanor, and several Vehicle and Traffic Violations.
McCoy was turned over to a sober third party and released on appearance tickets returnable to the City of Rye Court on November 20, 2020 at 9:00 a.m.
