Rye Schools Peeps: Middle School Newbies
We've got new peeps (faculty, administrators and staff) at Rye Schools across the district.

Danielle Kelly
Spanish
Ms. Kelly comes to Rye High School from the Rose E. Scala School PS 71 in Bronx, NY, where she taught middle school Spanish for the past 11 years and served as a 7th grade ENL (English as a New Language) teacher. She has a B.A. in Spanish and Sociology from Fordham University and an M.E. in Middle and High School Spanish Teaching from Lehman College, CUNY.
Dr. Shehnaz Khalfan-Washington
English
Dr. Khalfan-Washington comes to Rye from the Dr. Richard Izquierdo Health & Science Charter School in Bronx, NY, where she was the English Lead Teacher. She is also an adjunct professor at Mercy College and Stony Brook University, where she teaches a writing course and English fiction course, respectively. Previously, she worked for seven years as a substitute English teacher in the Greenburgh Central School District. She has a B.S. and an M.S. in English Literature from Mercy College and an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from Trident University International in Cypress, CA.
