Letter Gs Net $80G
If you are wondering why everyone in Rye loves the letter G or why we all became Georgia Bulldogs fans overnight, you just don't have kids in the school system.
The Rye High PO (parents org) offered to plant a letter G on your front lawn starting back in April in exchange for a donation of $100 or more. The G campaign is over, and it (plus a social event) raised $80,000 net for the schools – well done. Also the PO is suggesting to recycle your letter G by bringing it to the next home football game.
Maybe we can sell multiple letters R-Y-E or G-A-R-N-E-T-S and raise more money next year. But the Rye PD might have to deal with vowel theft…
From the PO: "Between the G's and the social, we grossed over $94,000! Our expenses were low, so the net will end up somewhere in the $80's! Although, we are equally excited about the massive community spirit that has been reawakened! We hope you enjoyed seeing G's pop up all over town and in the merchant windows! Your G is yours to do whatever you wish with it, we are excited to set ours out for home football games."
