Rye Girls Varsity Tennis rolled Mamaroneck in its season opener Tuesday. The team won the away game 5-2.

“All three singles players had strong steady wins,” said Rye Girls Varsity Tennis Coach Anthony Campbell. “The first doubles team of freshmen Sasha Sherman and Alexandra Ausfahl then sealed the team win at first doubles 6-0,6-3 playing in their first HS Varsity match. Every other doubles team played long, close, hard fought matches that resulted in deciding tiebreakers.”

The fourth doubles team of juniors Cassidy Pagen and Cate Hudson came back from losing the first set 3-6 to gutting out a second set win 6-4 and a convincing super-tiebreaker win at 10-6.

The team’s next match is Tuesday, September 21st at 4:30pm vs. Suffern.
