Thrift Shop at Rye Presbyterian: Saturday Sale
The Presbyterian Church Women's Association Thrift Shop will hold a sale this Saturday, October 26th, from 9am – 1pm in the basement of the church and in the church's Assembly Room.
The Saturday Sale features more furniture and larger toys than the shop usually can hold, plus the ever-popular "Handbag Table," with many beautiful and designer purses for sale at extremely reasonable prices. Jewelry, china, crystal, silver, framed art, holiday decor, toys, books and much, much more will be available.
The Women's Association donates all proceeds from the Thrift Shop each year as grants, almost exclusively to area non-profits. Recipients include the Rye Youth Council, Rye Recreation's summer camp scholarship program, Port Chester's Carver Center and Open Door Medical Center. There is also an occasional grant to an international or disaster relief effort.
For each of the past three years the Thrift Shop has donated $50,000 or more back into the community. Donations to the shop also keep – literally – tons of usable items out of landfills.
