Parker Candidacy Gets Nod from Former Enviro Congressman
Catherine Parker, the Rye City Councilwoman who is running for Westchester County Legislator this Fall, has gotten the nod from environmentalist and former Congressman Richard Ottinger.
Here is the PR from her campaign:
Former Congressman Richard Ottinger Endorses Catherine Parker for County Legislator;
Cited Parker’s Non-Partisan Commitment to Environmental Issues
(RYE, NY) Catherine Parker’s campaign for Westchester County Legislator received another boost this week from one of Westchester’s progressive icons, former Westchester Congressman Richard Ottinger. Congressman Ottinger was one of the first environmentalists to serve in the House of Representatives and founded the Environmental Study Group, the first and largest bipartisan, bicameral issue caucus on Capitol Hill. Ottinger went on to Chair the Energy Conservation and Power Subcommittee of the House Energy & Commerce Committee, adopting the first legislation to promote renewable energy and helping to write key environmental legislation.
“Catherine Parker has shown that she has what it takes to deliver results on critical environmental issues facing this community. During my time in Congress, I learned how much more we could achieve when we set partisanship aside and focus on our end goals. As a Councilwoman in Rye, Catherine has taken a similar approach to understanding and tackling the challenges that face coastal communities like ours along the Sound Shore. We need more people like Catherine in government, willing to examine ideas on the merits rather then engaging in negative and partisan bickering as is now all too prevalent, so that government can work for the people and we can create a better, more sustainable environment for future generations,” said Congressman Ottinger.
Catherine Parker expressed her appreciation for Ottinger’s support, “Congressman Ottinger was a pioneer during his time in Washington who listened to the concerns of the community and went back to the Capitol and advocated those points of view. During a time where various levels of government have ground to a halt because of polarized ideology, it has become clear that more elected officials could learn a lesson or two from Congressman Ottinger’s approach to coalition building. I’m flattered that he has identified my ability to work collaboratively and tackle the environmental issues facing this community and I deeply appreciate his endorsement.”
Ottinger is currently the Dean Emeritus at Pace Law School and resides in the Orienta section of Mamaroneck Village with his wife, June, a former Village of Mamaroneck Trustee who is also supporting Parker.

Against or for Catherine Parker, there is one thing that no one can deny…Catherine Parker has far greater support than that of the last Rye Resident that attempted to dethrone Judy Myers for the position of County Legislator and win or lose Catherine Parker will by far fare much better than the sad embarrassment to Rye – Ms. Suzanna Keith!!!
Suzanna Keith has worn out her welcome here in Rye, so much so that she made up this elaborate story to move to Houston, Texas as she ran from all the CORRUPTION in an attempt to shield herself from her very own participation and embarrassment.
Have no worries everyone, Suzanna Keith will always give us a show and be an embarrassment to herself and her family!
But Suzanna, being Suzanna,even from afar she still continued to meddle in the affairs of Rye, and now that she is back or close to moving back after most of the smoke has cleared (DUH, could she be more obvious), she is already trying to move her way back up the social ladders.
GOD HELP US ALL!!!
Former Congressman Richard Ottinger better reevaluate who he is endorsing. Take a peak at what Parker has allowed for years in her own backyard.
