Boys Varsity Tennis Caught in Net by Scarsdale
Rye Boys Varsity Tennis was caught in a net by Scarsdale on Friday, falling 1-6 at home.
“After battling some hard fought matches, Scarsdale came away with a dominating win 6-1,” said Rye Boys Varsity Tennis Coach Sue Dickson. “The solo win was at second singles by Matthew Templeman who came back after losing the first set 6-2 to win the second set 6-4 and then winning the super tiebreaker 10-4. Every point was hard fought and Templeman dug deep to earn the win. It was also the game highlight of the day. As Matthew Templeman has quoted in the past, “Victory is a thousand times sweeter when you’re the underdog.””
Varsity is 1-2 for the season. Tennis plays at 4:30pm Monday versus Blind Brook.
