85 Rye Residents Reach Out to Rockaways

The students of Reach Out Rye at Rye Middle School and other community
members headed to help the Rockaways yesterday to help the area clean-up from Hurricane Sandy.

Rye Middle School teacher and organizer Craig Dreves reported "I'm pleased to say that the Rescue the Rockways project yesterday was a tough, but successful project.  All told, there were more than 85 people that joined us and we traveled to the Rockaways with a full coach bus, 2 pickup trucks and a U-Haul all filled with volunteers and donations.  The RMS community and Rye community at large REALLY came together to help out those in need and it made me proud to count myself amongst such a caring community."
