Vehicle Rammed on Forest & Playland Parkway During Domestic Incident

Multiple arrest charges have been made in a domestic incident after a 21 year old male used his vehicle to ram the victim’s vehicle and run her off the road in the area of Forest Avenue and Playland Parkway.

Early Saturday morning at approximately 5:30am Rye Police Officers responded to the area of Forest Ave and the Playland Pkwy for a report of a domestic disturbance. Officers arrived on scene and found that the aggressor had fled the scene and was now in Connecticut.

Matthew Lugg, age 21 from Stamford, turned himself into the Rye Police on Monday. An investigation revealed that Lugg used his vehicle to ram the victim’s vehicle in an attempt to run her off the road. Lugg was charged with Reckless Endangerment 1st degree, a D Felony, Criminal Mischief 2nd degree, a D Felony, Harassment 1st, a Misdemeanor, and Aggravated Harassment 2nd degree, a Misdemeanor.

Lugg was arraigned before Judge Latwin in Rye City Court. Lugg was released on his own recognizance and served an order of protection to stay away from the victim. The defendant is due back in Rye Court on September 27, 2022.

Rye PD reminds you that booking charges are merely accusations and the defendant(s) are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
