Rye PBA’s Compagnone on the SuperBowl, SuperFood Drive for the Carver Center Food Drive
MyRye.com asked Rye PBA President Franco Compagnone to tell us why they decided to support the Rye PBA / MyRye.com SuperBowl, SuperFood Drive and to give us some background on the PBA's charitable efforts.

The membership of the Rye PBA is comprised of 36 dedicated men and women. We are the primary bargaining unit that represents and protects the best interest of all of our members. Our mission statement is to protect and serve the residents of Rye in addition to donating to local charities.
The Rye PBA decided to support the Super Bowl food drive because when we were contacted by MyRye and the Carver center and apprised of the severly depleted food supplies at the center. The membership felt that we would help try to make a difference for needy families during the Super Bowl festivities. We were successful with Toys for Tots and we are confident that with the help of the Rye residents this food drive will be a touchdown.
Our longest standing charitable effort I would have to say is our Walther Worthington scholarship fund. Every year we for 15 years we have donated $500 dollar scholarships to deserving Rye high school seniors to help offset some of their college expenses. The success of our annual Golf Outing and thanks to the generosity of the Rye residents, we were able to increase the number of applicants from four to eight that receive the WW scholarship fund.
