Osborn School: Ship Your Halloween Candy to Iraq
Well, apparently our troops are coming home from Iraq by the end of year – but not before we try to deliver some good American tooth decay their way.
The Bravo Committee at The Osborn School is looking to collect leftover, individually wrapped Halloween candy to send to our troops overseas. And threy are looking to beat last year's collection of 600 pounds of candy. What the over / under on half a ton?
Now, how is this committee of dedicated volunteers so effective at prying Snickers and Kit Kats away from the hands of our sugar infused children? For every two pounds of candy that each class collects they will earn extra recess time outside. The class that collects the most will get a pizza party.
Next year if they raise the ante to Xbox Call of Duty "screen time" I say we get a full ton of sugar to fuel our freedom fighters.
Osborn students are encouraged to bring leftovers in starting on Tuesday, November 1st through Friday, November 4th to their individual classrooms (Please send only individually wrapped, sealed candy. The school cannot donate twist wrapped candy like lollipops, Tootsie Rolls, Smarties, Jolly Ranchers, Hershey Kisses, etc. – you'll have to eat all those).
