Girls Varsity Softball Claws the Eagles
Rye Girls Varsity Softball clawed the Eastchester Eagles on Wednesday, winning at home 7 – 1.
“It was a well played game,” said Rye Girls Varsity Softball Coach Alex Tejera. “We received strong pitching, defense, and timely hitting to lead us to the win. Penelope Gilmore pitched a complete game allowing only 1 run on 6 hits and went 1 for 2 with a double and a run scored. Dylan Deertz went 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored and 2 Rbis. Ashley Kessner had a 2 run double. Millie Brooks, Tessa Labovitz, Ava Cross, each had an Rbi. Great team effort and a much needed win.”
