Rye Boys Varsity Tennis delivered a lot of love to the Harrison Huskies on Monday, taking the away match with a commanding 6 – 1 win.

“Rye dominated cross town rival Harrison today winning with a score of 6-1,” said Rye Boys Varsity Tennis Coach Sue Dickson. “Nicolas Echlov battled against Michael Griff but came up a little short against the remaining last Griff of a long legacy of strong players in that family. The score was Griff 6-2, 6-2. Matthew Templeman, Alex Gordon, and Lou Kim-Reuter won with straight set clean matches. “The Henrys,” Henry Bagley and Henry Paul held off a second set Harrison rally at first doubles 6-0, 7-5. Juniors Gunnar Wey and Ty Bibas won 6-1, 6-0 at second doubles, and Ollie Lincoln and Luke Gordon gave up only two games in their third doubles match 6-1, 6-0. Eighth grade player, Filip Glitterstam competed in a singles exhibition match and wasted no time, coming first off the courts with a straight set match 6-0, 6-0.”

The Garnets remain first in the league with a 10 – 1 record. The team hosts Pelham on Tuesday at 4:15pm.
