Girls Varsity Softball Bites the Tuckahoe Tigers in Walk-Off Win
Rye Girls Varsity Softball bit the Tuckahoe Tigers on Monday with a 6 – 5 win at home.
“In a dramatic walk off win in the bottom of the 9th, we were able to defeat Tuckahoe HS 6 to 5,” said Rye Girls Varsity Softball Coach Alex Tejera. “Erin Ball pitched an amazing 9 innings, earning the extra innings victory. Millie Brooks drove in the winning run on a perfectly executed squeeze bunt to drive in Ava Cross for the game winning run. Tessa Labovitz had a great defensive game, including a game saving diving catch in the top of the 8th with 2 outs and the go ahead run on second. A great team effort and a great way to end of last regular season home game.”

The team is now 9 – 8 for the season. The Garnets travel to Pelham on Wednesday for a 6:00pm game.
