Obituary - Barbara Davidson Wright-2Barbara Blair (Davidson) Wright, born August 14, 1940, on Staten Island, NY, passed away on June 6, 2023, in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida at the age of 82. She was the daughter of John Stowell Davidson and Emma Elizabeth (Betsy) Larned Moore and stepdaughter to Oscar Fitzland Moore lV.

She spent much of her life in Rye, NY and Manchester, VT as well as Ponte Vedra Beach. She leaves behind a legacy of adventure and creativity. Barbara’s love for the outdoors extended to skiing and scuba diving, where she fearlessly embraced the slopes and oceans around the world. Her impeccable taste in home decor and garden design showcased her artistic flair and attention to detail, creating breathtaking spaces that reflected her vibrant personality. Barbara was an avid athlete who excelled in various sports, including tennis and multiple club championships in golf.

She also recently discovered a new passion for the strategic complexities of bridge, engaging her sharp mind and fostering social connections.

Barbara will be missed by her husband of 53 years, John King Wright. Together, they navigated life’s ups and downs, embracing the joys of adventure. She was predeceased by her sister, Sydney Davidson Morgan. She is survived by her loving family including her daughter, Elizabeth Blair (Bob) Marotto of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, her son, John Davidson (Cynthia) Savage of Stamford, CT, her stepdaughter, Laura Wooton of Louisville, KY and her stepson, John K. (Kelly) Wright Jr. of Geneva, Switzerland. Barbara cherished her nine grandchildren and held them close to her heart.

Barbara will be fondly remembered by her family and her many friends as a vibrant and creative soul, known for her competitive spirit, determination and keen sense of humor. May she rest in eternal peace.
