Boys Varsity Swimming Goes Bonkers on Yonkers

The Rye Boys Varsity Swimming & Diving went bonkers on Yonkers Thursday for a 92 – 88 win at the away meet.

“Rye- Blind Brook had an amazing meet tonight against Yonkers,” said Rye Boys Varsity Swimming & Diving Coach Katie Konopka. “Rye- Blind Brook started the meet strong winning the first 4 events including the 200 Medley Relay (Kieran Moran, Filip Glitterstam, Wilson Redd, Tripp Redd), 200 Free (Bryan Laverty), 200 IM (Kieran Moran), and 50 Free (Wilson Redd). Rye- Blind Brook also won the 200 Free relay (Bryan Laverty, Wilson Redd, Filip Glitterstam, Tripp Redd) and the 100 Backstroke (Kieran).”

“The divers, Niko Field and Finn Hansen, placed first and second in the 1M diving competition. The 400 Free Relay of Bryan Laverty, George Papaioannou, Finn Palermo, and Kieran Moran won the event, which ultimately decided the winner of the meet.

The team is now 6 – 0. Next up varsity swims versus Port Chester on Friday 4:30pm at the Hommocks Pool, Hommocks Middle School.
