Downtown Sidewalk Sale is Underway

Rye’s annual sidewalk sale is underway on downtown Purchase Street. Run by the local Chamber of Commerce, the sale runs 10:00am – 4:00pm on Thursday, July 18th, Friday, July 19th and Saturday, July 20th, 2024.

According to Rye Chamber of Commerce President Brian Jackson, some merchants use the opportunity to clear sale merchandise to make room for fall and winter items, while others will bring in higher profit goods specifically for the sale. The sale is meaningful to local merchants. Jackson said one clothing retailer told the Chamber they grossed $65,000-$70,000 during the three day sale in 2023. All participants must be chamber members, and anyone from out of town selling just during the sidewalk sale must be deemed non-competitive with local chamber members.
