53rd Annual Rye Little League Parade: Pics and Video
Saturday provided perfect weather for the 53rd Annual Rye Little League Parade. Starting in the train station parking lot and winding down Purchase Street and Milton Avenue, the hundreds of baseball players made their way to Disbrow Park's Grainger Field for the formal Opening Day ceremonies. The players were led by Rye PD and Rye FD escort vehicles and various marching bands.
At Grainger Field fans of all ages heard the National Anthem, the invocation by Reverend Andrea Raynor, welcoming remarks by Little League boss Myles Lavelle, the introduction of many local politicos and the first pitch by Rye Mayor Doug French.
