Carver Toy Drive: An Rye Elementary School Smackdown

Two weeks ago we told MyRye.com readers about the "Friends of Carver from Rye" toy drive for Port Chester's Carver Center. The group organized the Rye Porch Elves—friendly Rye families whose porches have become toy drop-off locations for donated toys now through December 19th.

Well, it looks like the Porch Elves are getting a little competitive…

  • OSBORN SCHOOL DISTRICT – 15 Sonn Drive (Kim O’Connor) – 33 Toys
  • MILTON SCHOOL DISTRICT – 2 Robert Crisfield Place (side porch, Cliona Cronin) – 30 Toys
  • MIDLAND SCHOOL DISTRICT – 22 Centre Street (Sarah Gray) - Waiting for Report

These friendly Elves are looking for 500 new toys (or gift certificates for families to buy toys) for the Port Chester Carver Center children (age birth to 16).

MyRye.com called up to the North Pole and asked Santa for a comment. Santa told MyRye.com "Show your school pride & get a little competitive people, we need 437 more toys. Don't think this all comes from my factory. We are already working three shifts and need your help." Santa said for additional questions call Kim O’Connor at 939-4464 x165.
