This is the second police car to go up in flames in the last 6 months since Shew and the Rye City Council changed the replacement policy of police cars from 50,000 miles to 70,000 miles. Both police cars had in excess of 50,000 miles.
I don’t know if it’s related, but they were warned this was not a good idea. As usual, the warnings were ignored.
Thank God both Police Officers were able to get out with no serious injuries.
Gosh, were any deer injured in this calamity?
Those “No engine idle people” are not messing around anymore!!
What was the cause? Perhaps a recall of that model of car is in order.
Is that on Boston Post Road???
a thorough inspection of all remaining police vehicles should be ordered right away to ensure the safety of our police officers!make sure shew sends a mechanic and not a psychiatrist!
Claremont
you are wicked, but sooo goood
That was funny Claremont Avenue resident.
Did you get that Rye PBA flyer in the mail the other day? Shew and Connors both got overwhelming VOTES of NO CONFIDENCE last year and the Rye City Council has yet to respond or investigate the very serious complaints against Connors and Shew. How could Otis and the Rye City Council be so irresponsible, negligent and reckless?
The location of the police car fire was Boston Post Road northbound in front of the Rye Hospital Center.
WHAT AN APPROPIATE LOCATION! TOO BAD IT WASN’T SOMEONE DRIVING WHO WAS IN NEED OF CHECKING IN NEXT DOOR,ie; SHEW/CONNORS!!! HEY CONNORS & SHEW MAYBE YOU MIGHT WANT TO LOOK INTO THIS[2 cars in 6 months] BEFORE SOMEONE LOSES A LIFE!! OH YA-I FORGOT-THAT’S HOW THINGS ARE DONE IN GOOD OLD RYE- 1st SOMEONE IS FATALY WOUNDED & THEN WE DO ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ABOUT IT!! WAIT…..WHAT WAS I THINKING ABOUT-MY BAD……… PLEASE FORGIVE ME FOR THINKING OF SUCH LOGIC!!!
Thank God these 2 policae car explosions were isolated. Can you imagine the calamity if these police cars exploded on Purchase Street during a Saturday afternoon shopping orgy in Rye? Most times on Saturday there is grid lock on Purchase Street. Any car exploding could ignite a chain reaction that could level downtown Rye. What if a car other than a police car exploded, like an SUV with kids strapped into the back seat on Purchase street? How much exposure does Rye have if this happens? Should we make Rye an auto free city? I think that may be the only solution.
Now Now everyone the reason Rye cant afford to buy new Police Cars to keep our Police safe is because they are too busy paying for the Town attorney Mr. Plunkett……The same attorney who LOST in Dobbs Ferry , Mamaroneck, and countless other Communities in Westchester….. ( In song ) WHERE HAS ALL THE MONEY GONE? GONE TO PLUNKETT EVERYONE, WHEN WILL WE EVER LEARN, WHEN WILL WE EVER LEARN… FIRE!Mr. Plunkett now before its toooooo late.
