LoHud has the details:

"Guy Parisi, politically connected Westchester lawyer, indicted on federal fraud charges

Guy Parisi, a politically connected Westchester County lawyer, has been hit with a federal indictment for allegedly trying to siphon hundreds of thousands of dollars from the estate of a deceased Mount Vernon man.

Parisi, 71, allegedly tried to cash in on the estate's assets by hiring a fictitious company he created with his wife just two weeks earlier — a company he allegedly named after the street in the Hamptons where he owns a beach house.

Court papers show the estate was worth between $6 million and $10 million.

Prosecutors said Parisi even reached out to an unnamed Westchester County elected official and a former Suffolk County elected official for help collecting the money.

He was charged with conspiracy, fraud and making false statements to investigators, according to the 11-page indictment unsealed Monday. He was arrested that morning and pleaded not guilty at his arraignment in federal court in White Plains.

Andrew Quinn, Parisi's lawyer, declined to comment.

"Mr. Parisi allegedly took advantage of the trust given to him by his client, when instead of doing the right thing, he created a company to greedily enrich himself of fees he would not lawfully be entitled to receive," Peter Rendina, inspector-in-charge for the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, said in a statement. "Postal inspectors and their law enforcement partners uphold the truth and those who do not must face justice."

Parisi, of Rye, has long been one of Westchester's most notable go-to attorneys on election law matters, particularly for GOP candidates and campaigns.

New York state election records show that he was paid more than $250,000 in legal fees by dozens of political committees since 2010."
