Osborn 1st Graders Storm Bronx Zoo
An overcast sky turned out to ward off the heat last Friday as first graders from Rye’s Osborn elementary school stormed the Bronx Zoo for the annual end of year trip, accompanied by teachers and parent chaperons. Parents were instructed to find specific animals as part of a first grade research project.
This parent writer spent hours before finally locating penguins at the sea bird colony and the red panda at the Himalayan Highlands. One parent spent the day searching for an emu to no avail.
