The city council's agenda for its meeting on Thursday, July 26, 2018 is out.

The council will meet at 7:30pm in the City Council chambers. It is expected the city council will adjourn into Executive Session at 6:30pm, before the regular meeting, to discuss attorney-client privileged matters, personnel matters and labor negotiations.

Let's check the batting order and highlights from the 17 agenda items.

  • Charge It. Public Hearing to establish the 2019 budgeted fees and charges.
  • Paving Over. Public hearing to amend Rye City Code Chapter 167 “Streets and Sidewalks” regarding repaving requirements after road openings and required deposits.
  • Open Mic. A crowd favorite. Residents may be heard on matters for Council consideration that do not appear on the agenda.
  • Financial Planing. Report of the City’s financial position by the Deputy Comptroller.
  • To Do List. Continuation of discussion by the City Council on proposed capital projects.
  • Guy that Runs To Do List. Update by the City Engineer/Superintendent of DPW on certain projects

  • eBay It. Resolution to declare certain City of Rye equipment as surplus. Roll Call.

  • Write Your Rep. Ratification of letter to Senator Schumer regarding small cell legislation.

  • Patronage. One appointment to the Rye Boat Basin Commission, by the Council, to fill a term expiring on January 1, 2021.
  • Tastes Great. Resolution to extend the waiver of Chapter 144-8(D) and (G) of the Rye City Code to permit Barley on the Beach to operate a singular food truck at the Town of Rye Park Beach North Gate, adjacent to the Rye Town Park Restaurant Site through Labor Day weekend.
  • More Patronage. Appointments to Boards and Commissions by the Mayor with Council approval.

 

The next regular meeting of the City Council will be held on Wednesday, August 8, 2018.

The Mayor and City Council have office hours in the Mayor’s Conference Room Annex at Rye City Hall, 1051 Boston Post Road. The Mayor’s Conference Room Annex is located on the 1st floor of City Hall adjacent to the Council Chambers. Hours are as follows:

Mondays 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Wednesdays 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
