Ernesto Blows Over Rye
Wind storms from Ernesto blew into Rye on Saturday causing widespread power outages and toppling trees of all sizes. The Rye, New York police department issued a reverse 911 call to residents on Sunday stating residents should be prepared for it to take up to "several days" for Con Ed to restore power. At alternate times on Saturday, Interstate 95 Northbound, the Boston Post Road and many, many local roads were closed due to downed trees and power lines. The Rye Public Works Department was out in force removing debris and making road passage possible.
One bright note: for all gardeners, there will be plenty of free, fresh mulch over at Disbrow.
Update this web site. You know that because of global warming there will be more flooding as in Uk 7/24/07. Please keep all of us appraised of the latest efforts to ameriolate the flooding. e.g. are the US Army Engineers working out a solution. If you resort to complacency we will wash away again. See the UYK for GLOBAL WARMING – it is real and here.
