The Rye – Rye Neck – Blind Brook Swimming and Diving Team came away with a close victory in the pool on Friday evening, inching past SHEDI (Sleepy Hollow, Edgemont, Irvington) 96-90. It was a gritty effort from the team, who defended their home in Mamaroneck at Hommocks to clinch the positive result.

“The Rye – Rye Neck – Blind Brook swimmers and divers worked hard for the win tonight over SHEDI,” Head Coach Katie Konopka told MyRye.com after the game. “Every point scored was crucial to winning the meet.”

8th-grade stud Quinn Boyle recorded a personal best time in the 100M backstroke to continue her rookie season. Ella Godden also swam a personal best time, in the 500M freestyle. The regular performers also came through once again, as Kate Chesley won the 100M backstroke, while Kayla Lombardo won the 100M breaststroke.

The team (6-1) is not on the schedule next until Wednesday, October 9 against Clarkstown North and South. The meet is scheduled for 5:00pm at Felix Fiesta Middle School’s pool.
