Calhoun – Keenan Combo Puts Girls Garnet Soccer Over Arlington
A Calhoun – Keenan combo puts Rye Girls Varsity Soccer over the AAA powerhouse Arlington Admirals on Friday. Rye returned from the trip to Lagrange, New York with a 1 – 0 win, polishing their gemstone season to 13 – 0 – 1.
“It was an extremely physical game and the Garnets played with great composure,” Head Coach Rich Savage told MyRye.com after the game. “After a scoreless first half, Parker Calhoun took a direct kick from 35 yards and hit the crossbar, Charlotte Keenan charged the net and tucked the rebound in the back of the net.”
Tessa Labovitz had seven saves to preserve the shutout for Rye. The midfield play of Lyla Keenan, Parker Calhoun and Iciar Garate helped control the possession for Rye. Teriyaki Horton had nine saves for Arlington. Watch the replay. There is no rest as Rye will take on another AAA school on Saturday with a home game against John Jay East Fishkill at 2:00pm.
