Keenan Goal Not Enough As JJ East Fishkill Takes Polish Off Girls Garnet Soccer
A Keenan goal was not enough on Saturday as John Jay East Fishkill took the polish off the Rye Girls Varsity Soccer team. The Garnets recorded their first loss if the season, with JJEF taking the game 2 – 1.
“Rye faced a very physical John Jay East Fishkill team,” Head Coach Rich Savage told MyRye.com after the game.
At the 24 minute mark Charlotte Keenan scored for the Garnets with a beautiful left foot shot. A John Jay East Fishkill tied the game 15 minutes into the second half with a goal from Audrey Cerone. They would add the go ahead goal 20 minutes into the half from Gabriella Capra. Blake Sasse played solid in the net for the Garnets with 7 saves. Olivia Cauthers had 9 saves for John Jay East Fishkill.
Watch the replay. Garnets will celebrate the seniors on Monday, October 21st for the last regular season game of the season as they host Byram Hills at Nugent Stadium for a 5:30pm start (watch it). The Garnet record is 13 – 1 – 1.
