39 Year Old Man Arrested for Stealing $11 of Food
A 39 year old man has been arrested by Rye PD after stealing $11.04 of food from Rockridge Deli at 280 Purchase Street in Rye.
On Monday morning, December 9, 2024, Rye PD arrested Kenneth Charles Sorrells, age 39, of Gibsonton, Florida for petit larceny. At approximately 10:00am, Rye police officers responded to Rockridge Deli located at 280 Purchase Street in Rye on a report of a larceny in the past. The owner stated a male, later identified as Kenneth Sorrells entered the store, stole food, valued at $11.04 passing all points of purchase without paying.
Sorrells was located, arrested, and transported to Rye Police Headquarters for processing. A 2019 report in the Tampa Bay Times shows Sorrells was arrested at the time on charges of charges of aggravated assault, aggravated battery on a pregnant victim and battery after he kicked his pregnant girlfriend in the head.
Sorrells was released on an appearance tickets returnable to the Rye City Court on Tuesday, December 24, 2024 at 9:00am. Rye PD reminds you that booking charges are merely accusations and the defendant(s) are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
