8 Years After the Alleged Crime, Man Turns Himself Into Rye PD
This past Wednesday, a 33 year old man walked into Rye PD and turned himself in for a crime he was arrested for eight years ago. Back on July 16, 2016, Kadeem McKenzie of the Bronx was arrested and charged with Possession of a forged Instrument 3rd, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 2nd, and Obstruction of Governmental Administration. The charges evolved around the alleged passing and purchase of fake gift cards at the Rye Shell station and leaving the scene after the police had arrived.
Fast forward eight years and at 11:00am this past Wednesday, McKenzie turned himself in on two separate arrest warrants out of Rye City Court. McKenzie was processed and charged with two counts of Bail Jumping 3rd degree a class A Misdemeanor. McKenzie was arraigned in Rye City Court and transported to the Westchester County Correctional Facility on $1,000 dollars cash bail.
His next court appearance is scheduled for Tuesday December 24, 2024 at 9:00am. Rye PD reminds you that booking charges are merely accusations and the defendant(s) are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
