About the Artist

Maureen Fearon grew up with a very artistic sister. She saw how much her sister enjoyed her art classes in high school and college, so Fearon took those classes too. “I didn’t pick up a paintbrush again until COVID,” says Fearon. “The tennis courts were closed and my job as a tennis coach was on hold so I needed something to occupy my time. I take a lot of photos of beautiful landscapes and I started to try to paint them. I especially like painting seascapes and rocks. Rye is the perfect place to find beautiful scenes to paint!”
Fearon lives on Elmwood Avenue, in the neighborhood historically called Rye Gate.
She is a 4.5 tennis player and co-captains a Usta 55+ 8.0 team. She used to coach at Holy Child and SUNY purchase, but she is not currently coaching.
