
The Rye Volleyball team earned their third win in the past four days and seventh consecutive match overall on Monday, September 29, taking down Mahopac in four sets. Rye grinded out a very close match, with the scores reading 25-17, 24-26, 25-23, 25-23.
Star junior Amelie Modesto double-doubled with fourteen kills and 29 assists, leading the team in both regards. Phoebe Greto tied her with 14 kills, while Emma Lunstead dug 26 balls out for 6.5 per set to lead Rye. Valeria Medina and Giorgia Brizio both nearly double-doubled, including a seven-block performance from the latter. Lexi Kessner also stepped up with twelve assists in a balanced effort.
The close win marks Rye’s seventh straight victory since their first and only loss of the season to Mamaroneck all the way back on September 11. Rye fell to 1-1 at the time, and now stand at 8-1. they will look to stay hot tomorrow, Tuesday 9/30, as they host Ardsley.
