Patriotic Songs, 48 Star Flag & Bunting for July 4th at Rye Library, 10am
Hear ye! Hear ye! All ye Townsfolk of ye land of Rye are summoned to assist all ye citizens and travelers in observing, recalling and joining in a celebration of the anniversary of Our Declaration of Independence from the former Mother Country and Empire of England, across the Great Pond.
The festivities will commence at ten o"clock on the morn' of the fourth which this 241st year lands on Tuesday next. The Leaders of Tomorrow Educational Enrichment Organization would like to thank the generosity of the Rye Free Reading Room for allowing the event to once again be held in their Community Room, the American Legion Post 128 for sharing their historic and gigantic 48 Star Flag that we will unfurl on the Village Green while we engage in patriotic songs and to the Rye Recreation Department for the loaning of appropriate bunting and sound equipment.
All are encouraged to come and hear portions of famous American speeches culminating in the reading of our Declaration. Local residents can participate in the reading of the grievances of the Patriots.
